Library Automation

The School Library System offers member libraries the opportunity to purchase a library automation system through CoSer. Membership in the COSER provides participants with subscriptions to the automation system of their choice (either OPALS or Mandarin), and training in that system. 

Participants choosing the OPALS automation system will not have the hassle of configuring a server at the district level but will have a hosting fee due to BOCES for the service. OPALS participants will have Knowledge Suite purchased for them by the School Library System.

Mandarin participants will have their renewal licenses covered under the COSER fees and will receive an annual Mandarin training.

The School Library System coordinates automation license subscriptions and renewals in the summer months to prepare for the return of students in the fall.
